First of all, remember that plasmids don't kill people. (c) Use plasmids supportively.Electrobolt is great when dealing with turrets - keep it in your layout at all times, upgrade it to lvl 3 when it becomes available (you can skip lvl 2 tho). I also recommend using electricity tonics to support it - Static Discharge is great against Brute Splicers and Bouncer Big Daddies and Electric Flesh 1/2 later will allow you to nullify damage from all electricity sources.Telekinesis is useful when throwing stuff at people and getting stuff from unreachable places. No need to upgrade.Incinerate is only useful to melt down ice on few levels and distract your enemies. Don't recommend to upgrade it and to use in actual combat.Winter Blast looks cool, sounds cool, makes your enemies look cool, but it actually sucks.
Sad truth here. You need to loot bodies and there's no loot when no body's left.
Some people use it to hack machines easier, but you'll have enough tonics for that. WB is useless, I don't recommend it.Security Bullseye is nice plasmid to fight against Big Daddies. Extremely good against Bouncer type who cannot damage Bots nor Security Cameras. Too situational against regular splicers. Recommend using it.Insect Swarm - my most beloved plasmid. Lvl 1-2 are not that great on Hard/Survivor, but lvl 3 leaves NO SURVIVORS.
IS launches a swarm of bees that distract enemy (akin to Electrobolt or Incinerate) and deal continuous damage. There is no way to get rid of them and you don't even need to aim them, they will find their target on their own and switch targets when first one's dead! Lvl 3 enables bees to attack multiple targets at once. The only problem is that if you'll use 'em near Big Daddy, they will attack him as well - so be careful.

Other than that, IS is my distraction plasmid of choice.Hypnotize Big Daddy's pretty fun plasmid, but I found that it's not that easy to use in big fights, as you can easily damage your protector Daddy and make him hostile to you. But other than that it's pretty cool and is even given you for free.Spend your ADAM for Health and EVE upgrades - it's important and instantly useful. Also buy new slots for tonics (and plasmids. Plasmid slots are mostly useless, but you'll get achievement for that).Equip Armored Shell tonic as soon as you'll get one, equip AS2 when you'll get one. AS1+AS2 (you can keep previous versions of tonics active) allow you to effectively shrug off all incoming pistol/machine gun fire.Natural Camouflage is life. Use it at all times and you'll never have trouble with Security Bots (when hacking things) and just various enemies who like to ambush you.
Also it's easier to wait for them to come close to headshot that sons of bithes.Hacker's Delight is great at first 1/3 of the game when you are permanentally low on health and EVE.Well, that's about plasmids and tonics stuff. Now about hacking things. Hack everything in sight! Turrents, Cameras, Bots, everything. Even if you'll spend your whole EVE charge to electrocute that turret twice, do it.
Enemies tend to respawn, but your hacked stuff stays hacked even if you exit level and then return to it.Well, that should do. Few more things about weaponry.Aim for one's head - headshots are sweet. Crossbow gives 1000% damage on headshot, but Big Daddies have no 'head'.Best way to kill Big Daddy is to use Chemical Thrower with Electric Gel. It damages and stuns at the same time, so as long as you keep M1 button down HE WILL STAY PARALYZED.
My choice is to use grenade launcher first and weaken him, leaving 50-60% of health and then get up close and electrocute poor guy to death. The closer you are to your enemy, the more damage chemical thrower inflicts.Hope you enjoy your time in Rapture. I have finished my last run of BS Remstered one week ago at Survivor, getting all achievements possible and must say that only the first 2-3 levels were hard. After that you'll get so much shit to use that difficulty becomes almost non-existent. But I am a big BS fan and have beaten this game many times before xD. Wow so much I didn't know haha:( I kinda wish I asked here before I started my playthrough I wasted a ton of Adam.
I'm on like level 3 now I think I've escaped from the gardens. I'm trying to get all Little Sisters so I can get the achievement. And then on survivor I still might try to get them because you get 80 Adam per rescue idk about harvest. But yeah I'm getting a new console soon so it's gonna be pretty dope to try it Remastered. But thanks for all that info I'll keep that in mind next playthrough and through this one.
So far I have an upgraded Thompson it's pretty good I'd say. Harvesting Little Sisters is not worth it. Yeah, you get less ADAM, but you will receive some neat gifts from Tenenbaum to compensate for that. Harvesting every single Little One will give you 480 ADAM and saving + gifts gives you 440, so it's not that different.
And for sure my suggestions are optimised to win the game, not to have as much fun as possible. Spending ADAM on stuff you like and experiment with various playstyles is great.Thompson is GOD when loaded with antipersonnel ammo. Personally I can also recommend Shotgun with Exploding / Electric Buck, because it's very powerful and looks like a FUCKING CANNON xD.
What do you think about BS2? I played them both on PS3, now playing remastered on PS4 (this might not be so relevant playing on PC). BS2 benefits quite a bit from the upgrade I've found - the level design (glowing coral, barnacles etc) look a lot better, and in my second play through I've realised how much better the actual game play is in BS2 - the combat is more involving, the weapons and plasmids more balanced. It encourages you to use a wider range of plasmids and weapons.
I've come to think it is the equal of BS1 because even though the story is a bit weaker, the gameplay is much more immersive, better than BS Infinite even, which was poorly balanced compared to BS2. Still haven't tried BioShock 2 Remastered yet, as I've got two more challenge rooms from BS1 to clear:-) But from what I've seen in YouTube videos, BS2 Remastered looks neat.Speaking about the game itself I think that BS2's gameplay is great and personally I suppose BS2 to be the most 'playable' part of BioShock franchise. More tonics, more diversity, more effects for plasmids.
Overall experience is more fluent and uninterrupted. RPG elements got stronger and UI is more polished. I was actually a bit frustrated playing BS1 Remastered and seeing that they haven't updated UI, not even the slightliest. Like we still have no progress bars for Research Camera and map is as unusable as it used to be not sure if that's not a thing on consoles.BS1 & 2 spoilers aheadTalking about the plot, well, it has it's faults, like prof. Lamb not being even remotely as great as Andrew Ryan or Frank Fontaine and the whole story is not about saving Rapture or going global with nukes. But when my character died lying next to his loving daughter, I was really touched.
BS2's ending works, and so does the whole story. Sure it's not as fresh and mind-blowing as BS1 story was, but in exchange it gives us something more personal and consistent.TL;DR I like BS2 and agree that it is criminally underrated.
Early on it kinda comes down to making sure every bullet counts. And use melee when you can. If you see a splicer alone opt for the wrench and save some ammo.
Additionally try use other methods to kill splicers. Lure them into turrets you've hacked, let a hacked bot do most the shooting (or just left it take all the aggro while you either line up your shots or use melee). Using your environment can also help conserve ammo. Monster hunter tri ultimate.
Re-position explosive barrels, lead crowds into water for easy electro bolt kills, etc.It varies by level but often times you'll have tons of ways to approach combat that doesn't require using firearms. And another tip - this one concerns plasmids. So you've probably noticed that different plasmids use up different amounts of EVE. So lets say one of them eats up like a 4th of your eve bar with each use. If you only have a sliver of eve left you can still cast that plasmid. As long as you have any eve left it'll be enough to use any plasmid one more time. That's probably one of the harder parts about early game.
Later on ammo really doesn't become a problem. Never fight anyone that you could have security fight for you; in my last playthrough on Remastered for the difficulty trophies I found that the only Big Daddy I fought without a security camera's bots was the very first (although I still used Steinman's bot and two turrets).Second: pictures, pictures, pictures. That camera should always be out to max out every track, and essentially the only thing your money should be used for is film and to buy out hacks. Don't be afraid to take 5-6 shots for a single subject.Third, ADAM is best spent on tonic and plasmid slots, then upgrades ONLY FOR THE PLASMIDS YOU USE. You find enough tonics and useful things out in the world that you will never need to buy things like Vending Expert and crap like that. Don't try to use everything either, stick with the reliables like Electro Bolt, Incinerate!, Winter Blast, Security Bullseye, and (my personal favorite) Sonic Boom.Fourth, Natural Camouflage is a lifesaver.
Fully research Houdini Splicers and let your security work their magic, especially in large fight areas. Splicers lIke to walk close to you as well, so the shotgun and crossbow dispatch them easily.
