Since 2007, Select Skills has sponsored the Jr. Reds Middle School Teams in the MSDHL Middle School League. The half season starts in mid-December and ends in March. All players must be of middle school age and can be from any town. This season, we will be sponsoring (1) team(s).

The SSH Jr. Reds is a development program designed to prepare skaters both physically and mentally for the rigors of High School hockey. The freshman year of high school will be the most difficult step any player will make during his/her career. The Jr Reds is designed to give these players a future glimpse of their soon to be reality. The coaches will give these players an opportunity to understand systems, realistic expectations, personal accountability, and discipline.

Program Outline
- Season: mid November - mid March (starts in late December for 5th graders)
- Teir 1 Competition
- The Middle School League with High School Rules & Checking (checking is for 8th graders only)
- MSDHL Jamboree
- (11) MSDHL Games - plus playoffs (8 games for 5th grade)
- (3-4) Playoff Games
- (3) Optional Non-League Games
- Games are typically on Saturday and Sunday evenings to limit conflicts with other leagues.
- MSDHL games are typically played at Essex Sports Center, Philips Andover, Stoneham, Tsgonas Arena, Governors Academy, & Brooks Rinks
