I would say 85% of the story takes place away from the ranch, is about Gabriel and his horrible life and how he meets Cam Stafford.
Additionally, we get to see Cam's messed up family, who are really beyond help, and OTT cruel to Cam, simply because he is blind. Add in, Six, Cam's family friend/bodyguard/Concierge- who also may Gabriel is book 2 in R.J.

I would say 85% of the story takes place away from the ranch, is about Gabriel and his horrible life and how he meets Cam Stafford. Additionally, we get to see Cam's messed up family, who are really beyond help, and OTT cruel to Cam, simply because he is blind. Add in, Six, Cam's family friend/bodyguard/Concierge- who also may be a bit of a mercenary. I wasn't sure exactly what the overall goal of the story was beyond getting Gabriel to Legacy Ranch and hoping Cam and him got a HEA.Don't even get me started on Gabriel's pimp, Stefan.
He is scum and watching Gabriel go back to him each time something happened, was pretty hard. Gabriel had several 'outs' but he was so broken, he didn't trust any of them.We don't get to see much of Jack & Riley in this book, yet another sadness for me.
There were also some additional characters at Legacy Ranch that I don't remember from any of the other stories. However, it could have just been too many books ago for me to remember them as there has been quite the break of time between books in this series.Overall, a story that didn't leave me with any strong feelings either way.just sort of a 'meh' feeling.
